HaSalon Restaurant

Eyal Shani is as eccentric as they come, so don’t expect anything less from his restaurant. The menu changes day-to-day so everything is fresh, however of course there are the usual dishes: we like the tomato pasta and the rack of lamb, and definitely recommend you order the carpaccio- you’ll see why. The waiters are extremely friendly, attentive, and helpful (which is useful, seeing as you will have questions about half the dishes). At around 10 the lights begin to dim and the music starts to get louder; by about 11 you will feel as if you’re at a party. Napkins flying, wine flowing, and table dancing! If this sparks your interest, be sure to book the later of the two available seatings.

Mayumana House

In 1996, Eylon Nuphar and Boaz Berman, driven by their deep love for percussion and music, created the first Mayumana show. From around the world, Berman and Nuphar gathered a small group of gifted performers, each with diverse talents and contrasting backgrounds. Sparked by their shared passion for rhythm and coordination, and fueled by their unique sense of humor and mischief, their group dynamic on stage was inexhaustible and infectious. Enriched by working with a multicultural cast, they all inspired each other to fulfill the individual’s prowess in his/her area of expertise, while developing in all players the versatility to master other skills. This befits the name Mayumana, which comes from the Hebrew word for skill – Meyumanut.

“An explosive outburst of vitality, energy and delightful acting”

The power of each Mayumana creation comes from the strong emphasis placed on the unity and synchronization of the group as a whole. At the same time, the talent and beauty of the individual performer is highlighted and celebrated. Mayumana’s playfulness extends beyond the stage, reaching out to engage in direct interactions with its audiences of all ages and cultures. 16 years later with performers from more than 20 different nationalities, Mayumana has become one of Israel’s leading cultural exports. It has entertained millions of people around the world with its international touring cast, as well as in its home theatre, The Mayumana House, which is located at the old harbor of Jaffa.

Zack Bar

Founder at Teder

After living in NYC and London, Zack Bar came back to Tel Aviv and founded Tabac promotion Company in 2004. Zack is also an artists manager and the owner of Audio Montage Entertainment – an independent Record Label, which is releasing albums by various local talents like The Apples, Boom Pam and The Ramirez Brothers to name a few. Audio Montage is a Tel -Aviv based boutique label, established in 2005 by Ofer Tal, Uri Wertheim and Zack Bar – the manager for most of the label’s bands these days. The label represents local artists from a wide range of music genres, always emphasizing cutting edge, raw local influences and sounds. During its 7 years of existence, the label has become a leading influence in the alternative music scene in Israel, by releasing 16 albums, producing massive music events in major venues and successfully exporting its artists worldwide. After several years of collaboration with international labels and distributors, the label has recently begun to independently distribute their albums in Europe, becoming the first Israeli label to do so abroad. As a label / Management, they have consciously chosen to never artistically intervene in their artists’ creative processes, as printed on each of their releases: The artists alone decide what you will hear on their Audio Montage.  Bar also founded Teder.fm, an Internet radio station that would pop up every summer and broadcast from a bar somewhere in Tel Aviv. After six years of wandering they settled permanently in Beit Romano and continue to broadcast all year long.
